“I have known Walt and his family for over 20 years. They were one of the first families we met when we moved to Lavallette in 1998. Walt’s older boys are similar in age to my daughter. Oftentimes they would surf together off the end of our street.

When it became time for us to knock down our old house and build a new one, we asked Walt and several other builders to submit bids on our projects. We were so impressed by the deep connections that Walt had forged with his clients over the years and his reputation across our barrier island was stellar. We decided to build with Walt. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Our home is now nine years old and I still walk through the front door after we’ve been gone for an extended period of time and am blown away by how much I love our home.

Walt built our home between August of 2011 and July 4th of 2012.  He had us in on schedule and the process was excellent. We came to view Walt’s employees as family. Walt’s reputation and relationships enabled him to work through numerous permitting and zoning changes and keep our project moving. We were pleased to have selected a builder from the island versus one from Brick or Point Pleasant.

The craftsmanship was, and still remains, outstanding.  It was quickly tested in October of 2012 by hurricane Sandy. We had standing water of 30+ inches on our lot. The house was water damaged from below, but the structural integrity of the house was perfect. It did require considerable remediation work.  This is when I truly appreciated the care Walt would provide. We were living in California and it was difficult for us to be active in the project. Despite the damage to his own home, Walt treated our home and many others, as his priority. We were able to have neighbors whose homes were destroyed be back living in our home by February of 2013. It was amazing customer service. I would do anything to help Walt and his family and I’m so proud that he has added his sons Walt and Alex to his team. Alex is a particularly bright young man who excels in the administrative side of the operations.

I want to further stress that I spent my professional career in Fortune 500 companies in CFO and CEO roles. I have high standards for service, vendors, contracts, and business relationships. Working with Kosenski II, Inc was among the best choices I’ve ever made.”

“I met Walt in the spring of 1993 when I purchased a summer home on Morton Drive in Lavallette. I did not know at the time that this wonderful family was living across the street from my house. I called Walter Kosenski the contractor, to ask him if he would be interested in fixing the major repairs needed to this house. Walt knew the house and was also aware of the repairs/renovations needed. His suggestions were right on target to bring this house back to a livable state.

Living in North New Jersey eight miles from Manhattan in the fast pace environment I was not accustomed to the honesty and good workmanship that I experienced with Walt. His work exceeded any expectations I had bringing this house back to a “home”. The Kosenski family soon became life time family friends.

I could write a book about the Kosenski family telling many instances of the true kindness and generosity they have shown over the years. During the “Sandy” storm we experienced damage along with many others including the Kosenski family. Once again we called on Walt for the repairs needed to our home in Lavallette. I watched Walt and his family help so many while they were experiencing their own loss of their full time home.

I have met so many wonderful people who love the Kosenski family the way my family does. I know that I can call on any one of the Kosenskis at any time if I needed anything, this is a family that exemplifies real honesty and true character.”

In an industry ripe with unscrupulous individuals we need more people like Walt

“Our home in Lavallette, NJ was custom built; construction began September 2010 and was completed ON SCHEDULE, ON BUDGET in June 2011.  It is an amazing home which we continue to love after almost 8 years.  We wouldn’t change anything we did before, during or after the project.  We continue to be exceedingly proud of our home and none of this would have been possible without Walt and his team.

I worked very closely with Walt throughout the 10 months of our build.  Seldom did a day or two go by that we did not speak or correspond.  He was responsive to our calls, questions and concerns at all times.   

Despite the time that has passed, Walt has continued to show care and concern for our home and us. We put our complete trust in Walt and we continue to be rewarded.  His integrity is beyond question.  At no time, during or since, did he put his own needs or benefits before ours and at all time he was clear about cost issues and schedule impacts.  

I would like to recount several instances that I think sum up the type of person and professional Walt is:

·      I know it is Walt’s habit to walk through projects each evening to assure anything done that day is up to his high standards.  If not, it is corrected.

·      When subcontractors laying our patio pavers were not working quickly enough to finish by July 4 as promised, he and his employees came and finished the job

·      After Hurricane Sandy Walt checked the condition of all “his” homes.  His efforts saved us from significant damage.  And we know the quality of his construction is why we survived the storm with as little damage as we did.

In summary, the workmanship of our home is beyond compare.  I invite anyone to come and make that judgment for him or herself and challenge them to find anything that is not exceptional.  Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, the integrity of Walter G. Kosenski personally is unquestionable.  To say otherwise is incomprehensible to me.  In an industry ripe with unscrupulous individuals we need more people like Walt and businesses like Walter G. Kosenski II and Sons, Inc. 

We know we were blessed to work with such a talented and upright individual on the biggest undertaking of our lives.”
